The Isle of Wight The Isle of Wight is framed by 60 miles
of picturesque coastline with subtropical temperatures. The south
east of England is the driest in the country. The island has one of
the largest volume of all weather attractions for its square mileage
in the UK.
Various events and festivals take place year round. Outdoor pursuits
include sailing, surfing, windsurfing with Cowes week and Round the
Island Yacht Race taking place annually. There are also the benefits
of fishing, Horse Riding, Golfing, Paragliding and cycling with many
safe cycle routes. The most popular events are the Isle of Wight
Rock Festival with many top artists, Wight Air Extreme Sports
Festival, Garlic Festival, the largest Walking Festival in the UK,
Cycling Festival, Motorcross Event and Powerboat Racing.
There are plenty of places of interest to see, these include the
famous Needles and Alum bay with its coloured sands, Osborne House,
Carisbrooke Castle, Godshill with its historic church and numerous
tea gardens, many historic mansion houses plus lots of fun-filled
attractions for the younger visitor to keep happy and entertained.
